What is the purpose of human life, not an individual life but of all human life?
Disclaimer: I'm oversimplifying for the sake of brevity.
This question has been asked for aeons before and will continue to be asked into the future.
Everyone has their hypothesis, mine is in two parts:
The first I call the School of Survival. As the name implies, the focus here is to propagate our species, for our species to survive. The emotions I see driving this are lust, fear, greed and others that are perceived as negative.
The second part I call the School of Continuous Improvement. The focus here is not just on material improvement but also on improving our spirit, to make ourselves better human beings. The emotions I see driving this are curiosity, hope, courage and others that are perceived as positive.
But these emotions and schools are neither positive nor negative, they are two halves of the same coin, they are in each of us and create a balance, as we need to survive and we need to improve.
But, and this my contention, those privileged to not worry about basics of survival need to demonstrate the possibilities of our better future through actions (big or small) that are kind, generous, optimistic, and courageous, continuously expanding the limits of what's best in us.
