There's a lot of pain and uncertainty going around and it is overwhelming. So, how do you survive?
First, DON'T think about the long-term or the whole situation. Doing that triggers our imagination and we are designed by nature to imagine the worst.
Second, ground yourself in the present. Take a few deep breaths. Bring yourself to the immediate now. Then, ask yourself what you need to do next. Maybe it's a nap, maybe it's to comfort a friend or family, maybe to finish a work task, whatever it is.... do it. Don't think, just do. After that, again ground yourself in the present and then move to the next thing and next one after that, till the day ends.
Finally, this is IMPORTANT: Before you go to sleep, deal with a small portion or your pain and uncertainty by saying this affirmation or something similar - "I am in a bad place but this will pass. I MATTER, I can make things better. I will make things better one step at a time... one step done today, one more tomorrow. Thank you God/Universe for this power. I am strong and things will get better."
Go to sleep. Wake up and repeat, then one day you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.
