Is There A Viable Alternative To Democracy?

If you think about it, political ideology has very little to do with what's REALLY right for the country. It's got more to do with what's right for a portion of the county's population.

Democracy has always been about 'majority wins' and the minority, even if it's 49.99%, has to just accept the will of the majority. And there lies its foundational weakness, it leaves too many people dissatisfied with ANY result.

What then is the solution? There isn't one. Democracy has time and again proven to be better than a dictatorship or monarchy. The history of the 20th century is littered with failed absolute rulers, even those who came to power with popular support. The one success story was Singapore, a city-state. By comparison, authoritarian regimes cost humanity over 250 million lives between 1900-99.

Building a nation will always be messy and inefficient if you want to have RIGHTS. If you're willing to permanently sign-off your rights, then you can have an efficient government that gets things done but you should also start praying to not be on the receiving end of the efficiency.
